Maintaining cultural identity (Duy trì bản sắc văn hóa)

Work with a partner. Discuss and decide if activities (1-4) can help people to maintain their cultural identity. Match each of them with its reasons (a-d). (Làm việc cùng người bạn. B: I believe they should (1) preserve their native language.

C: That’s true. Language is a vital part of culture and critical to a person’s (2) cultural identity.

A: Yes. It enables people to communicate, establish links with family and community members, and acquire and value their native culture.

B: I can’t agree more. It is said that peoples’ first language helps them (3) develop their intellectual abilities and (4) shape their cultural identity.

C: That’s absolutely correct. Do you have any anything else to add?
