A. Zoos are very sensitive about their image nowadays. They don't want to be seen as places where animals are imprisoned against their will. Instead, they want to be seen as places where endangered species can develop. They want to reconstruct the animals' natural environment. So there appears a new kind of zoo.

B. Howletts Zoo in Kent is owned by John Aspinall, who is famous for his programme of breeding endangered animals and reintroducing them into the wild. The zoo has the largest gorillas in the world and its policy is to provide as natural an environment as possible for the animals. At times, this can be risky, and some keepers have been injured and one has been killed.

A: I think zoo of new kind are very good for animal. What do you think?

B: I agree with you but I have another opinion. It is very expensive to reconstruct animal's natural environment. And then the condition in which wild animals live, I think, is not so good and comfortable as that in the nature.

C: OK. It's true. And the animals cannot do what they want, that is they cannot run, jump, climb or chase the prey as they do in the nature.

A: But in the zoos of the new kind, the endangered animals can safe from being hunted or killed, so they can develop. Moreover, they can be protected from dangerous diseases in the nature and have better food.

C: However, there's a disadvantage we may not ignore: the dangers that keepers may have. They can be injured or killed by the animals.

B: Tôi đồng ý với bạn nhưng tôi có một quan điểm khác. Rất tốn kém để xây dựng lại môi trường tự nhiên của cho các loài động vật. Và thêm nữa tôi nghĩ điều kiện mà cho các loài động vật hoang dã sống thì không tốt và thoải mái bằng môi trường sống trong thiên nhiên.

C: OK. Điều đó là đúng. Và các loài động vật không thể làm những gì mà chúng muốn, đó là chúng không thể chạy, nhảy, trèo hoặc săn mồi như chúng vẫn làm trong tự nhiên.

A: Nhưng trong loại hình sở thú mới, các loài động vật có nguy cơ tuyệt chủng có thể được an toàn khỏi việc bị săn bắt hoặc giết hại, vì vậy chúng có thể phát triển. Hơn nữa, chúng có thể được bảo vệ từ các bệnh nguy hiểm trong tự nhiên và có đồ ăn tốt hơn.

C: Tuy nhiên, có một bất lợi mà chúng ta có thể lờ đi: đó là các mối nguy hại mà người trông giữ có thể gặp phải. Họ có thể bị thương hoặc giết chết bởi các loài động vật.
